Northcote-Green Education

Simon, Jacqui and Ada are well qualified to meet the needs of families as they progress through the UK schools system, with all its idiosyncracies. They appreciate how important it is to make the right choice for each child, and place the child firmly at the centre of the process. Their careers in education have seen them work closely with children from a wide range of nationalities and families with diverse needs. This has led to their roles as education consultants for the last three years. As pastoral leaders, having worked with families from all over the world from a wide range of backgrounds, they are conscious of the effects of lockdown on young people. They are keenly aware of the importance of wellbeing especially in light of recent events. They aim to provide mental and emotional support to students of all ages, in particular at testing times.

Case Studies

Shun and Xi Wang are identical twins from Hangzhou in China. Although their English was quite weak when we first met them (both were in Year 9), they were very determined to receive an education in the UK.

We developed a two fold strategy to meet their needs by initially finding separate schools for them where their English would be allowed to gain a firmer grounding before introducing them to schools for them to study their A levels. They both partook in our mentoring programme.

Both boys are now thriving – Shun at St Edwards, Oxford and Xi at Radley College and both are keen to complete degree courses at a U.K. university before returning to develop their business interests in China.

Jessica approached us in January 2021 with the aim of applying at 16+ to some of the most selective Sixth Forms in London.

Our mentoring programme coached her as she prepared for the entrance assessments, which involved subject papers, reasoning and critical thinking, the writing of personal statements and plenty of interview practice.

A bright and motivated student who responded enthusiastically to the challenge, we were delighted when she was offered places at CLSG, Latymer, KCS and Westminster. All the hard work paid off!

Jacqui and Simon make a remarkable team. Jacqui’s coaching and mentoring for our daughter through the sixth form entry process was well rounded, organised and balanced. Her mindful approach to the entire process was simply impeccable.

Simon is a brilliant English teacher who reignited the love for the language and reading for our daughter. She has made tremendous improvement due to Simon’s commitment, philosophy, teaching methods and approach to reading comprehensions and writing. Simon’s calm demeanour and careful analysis of the right areas of growth provided the perfect balance during this stressful time.

We are extremely grateful and would highly recommend the team to any child who is seeking more in their academic journey and success.
